Practically all NVIDIA chips G9x and GT200 will be substituted with more productive analogs, produced on 40 NM technical processes.

Associate presented NVIDIA plans on the replacement of graphic processors in the notebook segment , which will agree with information already published .

In first 2009 half , the market for NVIDIA graphic processors  will include : G92b, G94b, G96b, G98b and G98. All these graphic processors, except G98, will be produced with the 55 NM technological processes. Furthermore, NVIDIA will add the renamed mobile graphical solutions :

• GeForce GTX 180M/170M (G92b)
• GeForce GTS 160M (G94b)
• GeForce GT 130M/120M (G96b)
• GeForce G 110M/105M (G98b/G98)

In the second-half year as change will appear a new GPU based on 40 NM technical process. :

• G92b — > GT212 (GTX)
• G94b — > GT215 (GT, GS, GE)
• G96b — > GT216 (GS, NS, GE, GLM)
• G98/98b — > GT218 (GS, GE)

In all NVIDIA will release 10 solutions, 4 of them will be based on GT216 chip .

The GT212 graphic processor will possess a completely moderate heat emission and energy consumption The graphic processor GT215, which will replace the G94b  will relate to the class enthusiasts solutions .

Today Seagate company  officially reported about 500 GB plate in the appropriate press release. The hard disks barracuda 7200.12 HD will be released in models with  500 GB, 750 GB and 1 Tb volume. In the latter case, the tera-byte of data is placed in all on two magnetic plate. Seagate now completed the first step from the production of hard disk with a two tera-byte volume.

Hard disks barracuda 7200.11 HD has a 7200 RP/min rotation speed , they are equipped with SATA-300 interface and buffer with 16 or 32 Mb volume. The average speed can reach 160 Mb/s.

The mobile processors clarksfield with four core will appear in the third quarter of the present year, simultaneously with the desktop processors lynnfield LGA 1156.

However, if we look to the situation objectively, the transfer of calpella announcement for a later period is quite regular. An increase in the notebook popularity on base of atom processors does not allow the company to sharply reduce prices of components for Centrino 2 (Montevina) platform , since budget and valuable notebook must lie at different price categories. Financial crises blew up demand for expensive notebook; therefore Intel could not bring to the end of 2008 the portion of centrino 2 platform in the appropriate sector of its production (up to 80%), as it was planned earlier.

Notebook producers , in the prevailing situation would prefer the later announcement of calpella platform . Thus Intel plans to present calpella platform during July-August, but notebook producers would like to arrange the announcement not earlier than October in the present year. This would allow notebook producers  to get rid from centrino 2 generation.

Intel company as before tries to fence on traditional notebook . As we already know, to Intel partners are forbidden to create notebooks with a screen diagonal more than 10.2 inches. The hardware configuration of many notebooks does not allow them to work with Windows vista, but situation can change with the arrival of Windows 7 operating system.

As explains associate with the reference to official Microsoft information, this operating systems developer recommends creating notebooks with the following configuration:

• Maximum storage capacity: 16 GB SSD or 160 GB hard disk.
• Graphic system with API support  not higher than DirectX 9.0.
• Memory volume not more than 1 GB.
• Only single core processors with frequency not above 1 GHz, or processors from the following models: Atom n270, N230, Z500, Z510, Z520, Z530, Z540; AMD Of geode LX, athlon 2650e, sempron 210U; VIA C 7 M.
• Screen with diagonal is not more than 10.2 inches or 14.1 inches (for large notebooks).

We note that we deal with notebook under Windows XP.

As a whole, according to Microsoft the standard notebook configuration is more democratic in comparison with Intel company  .
