Under the pressure of AMD video cards series radeon HD 48xx NVIDIA company will be forced to decrease its video cards prices (GeForce GTX 280 and GeForce GTX 260). Now we can assert that the GeForce GTX 280 fell in price from $649 to $499, and the GeForce GTX 260 fell in price from $399 to $299.

In the same American store the geForce GTX 280 is proposed for 450$ after reduction (rebate). ! With this price level the GeForce GTX 260 can compete with the Radeon HD 4870, and the GeForce GTX 280 will also complete with the  R700.

NVIDIA does not hurry to officially present the GeForce 9800 GT, but in the composition of finished computers this video card already appeared. Now associate revealed the GeForce 9800 GT from XFX production , sold on the Chinese market .This GeForce 9800 GT works at 600/1500/1800 MHz frequencies , and it is equipped with 512 mb GDDR3 memory . These frequencies are similar to the GeForce 8800 GT, but formal difference is the support to hybrid power technology .

Furthermore, after the release of the corresponding drivers the geForce 9800 GT will support PhysX. It is assumed that the GeForce 9800 GT is based on 55 nm G92b just like the GeForce 9800 GTX+.

The first references about RV740 and RV710 appeared in February, then all information was around the RV770 chip, which is used now in radeon HD 4870 and Radeon HD 4850, and it will also serve  for creating the two-chip video card r700 at the end of this month. From the other side, RV670 chip ( radeon HD 38xx ) will  simply pass in the more accessible price segment. AMD prepares video card, also, in the more accessible price niches. In particular, as reports associate, the video cards on the base of RV730 and RV710 chips . The first will be equipped with 512 mb GDDR3 memory, which works at 1400 MHz DDR. Other two version will obtain 1800 MHz DDR memory frequency : 512 mb Version ( hynix memory ) and 1 Gb memory ( from samsung production ) . One additional  video card with 512 mb GDDR3 memory ( hynix ) will operate at 2 GHz DDR. Video card on base of RV710 chip will be equipped with 512 mb or 1 Gb GDDR3 memory which works at  1600 MHz DDR frequency. In the first case AMD will use hynix memory , in the second memory from samsung production  . Note currently there is no versions with 256 mb memory

The announcement of video card radeon HD 4850 and Radeon HD 4870 was completely successful .As reports associate in European retail already appeared the video card radeon HD 4850 from sapphire productions with alternative design. Here we deal with the Radeon HD 4850 TOXIC with 512 mb GDDR3 memory . Usually such video cards differ from standard in terms of the more effective cooling system. But in this case the video card frequencies remained as in the standard version radeon HD 4850. Simultaneously in European stores price lists appeared the video card radeon HD 4850 from Sapphire with 1 Gb GDDR3 memory . It has also a new design , but there are no data about the other characteristics . Its price on average is 40% higher than the cost of video card with 512 mb memory, and Radeon HD 4850 TOXIC costs 30% more expensive than the standard version. Both video cards will appear in the second-half of July. Sapphire also plans to present in August its own version radeon HD 4870 with 512 mb GDDR5 memory . In August (second half) will appear the radeon HD 4850 version with 512 mb GDDR3 memory with Sapphire design and the radeon HD 4850 Ultimate with the noiseless cooling system.
